Parkway Youth Hockey is an organization that maintains and runs a hockey program open to and inclusive of all interested youth of the Parkway area: i.e. West Roxbury, Roslindale, and Jamaica Plain. The program is designed to teach and develop hockey skills at all times emphasizing the importance of sportsmanship, fair play, teamwork and responsibility in the overall context of having fun. When a player is assigned to a travel team, preference is given to the Parkway Youth Hockey member.

	Mandatory Checking Clinics for All PeeWee Players

O'Sullivan Hockey will hold 2 checking clinics for our PeeWee players. The clinics will be held on the following days at the Roche rink:

-- Wednesday Sept. 15th @ 5:00 PM
-- Monday Sept. 20th @ 6:00 PM

Mouth pieces are required! Goalies are not required to attend.

Registration for Learn to Skate, Instructional Hockey, Mite House & McLaughlin Development League can be done online beginning Wednesday September 15, 2010.

The Learn to Skate, Instructional and Mite House programs will begin the weekend of November 6th and run thru March 2011. Start dates for the McLaughlin Development League will be announced at a later date.

Please note that all prior balances are due in full and need to be paid in order to be eligible to play on a 2010-11 Travel Team. Please send an Email to if you have any questions about any balance information that you see when you login to your account on the website. Parkway Youth Hockey does offer financial assistance and payment plans for tuition costs if it is needed.

	USA Hockey Registration for the 2010-2011 Season

All Parkway Youth Hockey players and coaches are required to register directly with USA Hockey for the current USA Hockey season. Please visit the USA Hockey website for registration instructions:

Once you have the USA Hockey Confirmation Number for your child, please enter it into our system by logging into your account on the Parkway Youth Hockey website:

If you already have registered your child with USA Hockey for another program, we still need for you to enter your child's USA Hockey number into our system.

	Attention Goalies

Parkway Youth Hockey is pleased to announce that we will reimburse parents up to $300 for their child to attend a goalie camp.

To be eligible, your child must attend and complete a goaltender’s camp (preferably by October 31th, 2010) and play as a rostered goalie for their designated Parkway Youth Hockey Travel team for the 2010-2011 season.

Each participant that presents proof of completion will be reimbursed for the cost of one goalie camp up to $300. Parkway Youth Hockey would like to encourage all goalies to take advantage of this special offer. All reimbursements will be made at the conclusion of the 2010-2011 season.

	Make a Donation to Matt Brown and his Family

By now, many of you have heard about the terrible accident that happened to Norwood High School hockey player Matt Brown.

Matt and his family need the support of the entire hockey community. I ask that, if you have not already done so, please make a donation to Matt Brown and his family by visiting the website (http://www.mattbrownnumber3.org/) where you can also get up to date information about Matt's progress.

Through a partnership made possible by the Roche Family in the re-opening of the Jim Roche Community Ice Arena, the Roche Family Community Center along with Facility Management Corporation was able to give back to the community $20,500 of the rink's profits to skills clinics for Parkway Youth Hockey players. Mayor Menino presented the check on behalf of the community center to Parkway Youth Hockey President Nick McCummings.

The donation will cover all costs associated with O’Sullivan Hockey Academy and ice rental fees for the next ten weeks of Skills Sessions. Based on the knowledge of this donation, the PYH Board of Directors was able to set player registration fees at a very reasonable level while offering exceptional coaching to all players. Parkway is proud to again offer among the most affordable hockey programs in the area due to generous donations from the Roche Center and our other sponsors.
